In 2017 my great nephew, Wells, was diagnosed with an extremely rare genetic disorder. At that time, the diagnosis was so rare that it had not been assigned a name. Needless to say, there was little to no support network, however, facing such a diagnosis can often feel isolating and daunting for the affected families. In the past 5 years research and knowledge about the disorder have been greatly advanced and in 2020 the Jansen-de Vries Foundation was established!
I am so proud of my niece, Rachel, who worked tirelessly on establishing the foundation and now launching the Jansen-de Vries Syndrome website to ensure new families can find critical information and support immediately!
